Thirty positive cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded in the Island of Cebu on May 7, including one in the province.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia in her daily live streaming on Facebook disclosed that out of 30 positive cases, one came from Talisay City.
Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas in his Facebook page announced that their fourth COVID-19 patient is from Upper Caduldulan, Barangay Lawaan III.
She was admitted at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) on May 4 and underwent swab test on May 6.
“We have already contact traced and we will transfer her family tonight to a facility. They will all be swabbed tomorrow (Friday, May 8). Rest assured your city will always be quick to contact trace when it comes to Covid patients in the city. After contact tracing we will isolate them from the public and swab them as soon as possible for testing,” Gullas’ Facebook page read.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will do the disinfection in the area as mitigating measure.
There will be temporary closure of the entry and exit of the purok where the family of the patient resides.
“The city will take care of the needs of those households sa purok pending the test results,” he said.
Four hundred fifty six (456) people were tested for the latest batch of results. Of the number, 426 were negative and 30 were positive. (Mylen P. Manto)
