Cebuanos can expect more projects from their respective town and city governments to realize as Governor Gwendolyn Garcia gave a total of P134 million in financial assistance to the mayors of the seven districts of Cebu.
The monetary aid is intended for the local government units’ (LGUs) socio-cultural activities and infrastructure projects like markets, plaza and ports.
The 1st district LGUs of Cebu received P15 million, the 2nd district P32 million, P43 million for the 3rd and 4th districts, P14 million for the 5th and 6th districts, and P30 million for the 7th district LGUs.
Mayors of the different recipient towns and cities personally received the cash assistance from the governor during the series of distribution of cash incentives to the barangay workers.
The LGUs that received their cash aid from Capitol include Carcar City, City of Naga, Minglanilla, San Fernando, Santander, Samboan, Oslob, Alcoy, Boljoon, Argao, Dalaguete, Tabogon, Daanbantayan, Tuburan, Asturias, San Remigio, Medellin, Aloguinsan, Balamban, Tabuelan, Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Alcantara, Dumanjug, Moalboal, Badian, Alegria, Ginatilan and Ronda.
Other LGUs received their financial assistance during the inauguration and groundbreaking of various Capitol road and other infrastructure projects and tourism relaunching in the previous weeks. (Eleanor Valeros, Mylen Manto, Vanessa Almeda)
